Talks and Panel Discussions

Talks and Panel discussions are being organized by Consumers India with a view to enlighten audience regarding their rights and responsibilities as also about important concerns relating to health and well being. Distinguished panelists from relevant fields are invited as speakers and they not only share their words of wisdom but also address all the queries and doubts raised by the audience. All such programmes inevitably end with lively interaction with the audience.


27 such programmes have been organized from 5th December, 2011 till 18th November 2014.


The ball was set rolling during the year 2011-12 with four programmes organized on issues like ‘Unethical Medical Practices’, ‘Misleading Advertisements’, ‘The Good, The Bad And The Ugly of Cholesterol and Fats’ etc.


During 2012-13 seven programmes were organized on important consumer issues like ‘Ageing with Dignity’, 'Access to Affordable Medicines: A Millennium Development Goal’, ‘Mediation for Dispute Resolution without Litigation', ‘Emerging Challenges for Consumer Protection in the Age of Consumerism’, ‘Protect Your Consumer Rights Through Right to Information’ and 'Can we expect gender-sensitive laws from law makers being tried for crimes against women?’ etc.


During 2013-14, in addition to organizing such programmes randomly, a series on important concerns relating to health and well being of consumers was concretized in collaboration with India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi for the entire year 2014.
